Alan Rapp
Alan E. Rapp is former senior editor of art, design, and photography books at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. In the course of ten years he has acquired, developed, and edited more than 100 titles. He has worked with numerous writers, designers, artists, and photographers to bring their work to book publication, including Danny Lyon, Jim Heimann, Misty Keasler, Geoff Manaugh, Alex Gross, David Maisel, Alan Hess, Isabel Samaras, Steven Heller, and Elinor Carucci.
A regular participant in international photo portfolio reviews such as Photolucida, Review Santa Fe, and Fotofest Meeting Place Beijing, he is also a writer who contributes to such publications as Design Observer, San Francisco Magazine, Dwell, Photo District News, and photo-eye Booklist. He blogs at Critical Terrain.
