Barbara Eldredge

Barbara Eldredge grew up in museums all over the country, developing a deep love of art, culture, and the stories objects tell. For her MFA thesis in the Design Criticism program at the School of Visual Arts, she is researching the place (or rather, absence) of firearms in design collections.

Eldredge highlights New York exhibitions and museum news at museummonger.com, a blog she created in February 2011. Since March, she has assisted the design blog core77.com with the coordination of their inaugural design competition. Eldredge has formerly worked in the development and membership office at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming.

Before moving to New York in 2008, Eldredge graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with majors in philosophy and theater. Her writing has been published on core77.com and in the D-Crit Chapbook Dress.
