Chappell Ellison
Chappell Ellison grew up in Northeast Texas where the cows outnumber people. By 2007, she completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Design. During that time, she participated in the Land Arts of the American West program where she spent six glorious weeks in the Southwest with other designers and artists.
After spending a year working for a web design company, she worked with children and animation within local art and design programs. One of these jobs drove her crazy, and you might be surprised to find that it was not the latter.
Since moving to Manhattan, she has worked for the Museum of the Moving Image where she has learned more about silent film than she thought humanly possible.
Chappell was a recipient of the 2009 Winterhouse Awards for Design Writing & Criticism.
