John Cantwell
Hi, I’m John. I’m a 2005 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, birthplace of modern rocketry, where I studied English and philosophy.
I graduated Holy Cross eager to pursue the dream job of every liberal arts degree-holder: a life of monk-like contemplation in my parents’ basement. When this proved unfeasible, I began work at Corporate Insight, a market research and consulting firm in Manhattan. At Corporate Insight, we analyze the design and usability of websites, and it was here that I first began considering the importance of design and its impact on our everyday lives. I still work at Corporate Insight today, as the firm’s research editor.
What else? I live in Hoboken, birthplace of Sinatra. I perform long-form improv comedy around the city with a team called Ohio. I’ve written about Donald Trump for Design Observer. On rare occasions, I blog. And I’m a firm believer that everyone, everywhere should take Russell Flinchum’s Design History class.
