Allison Arieff, “From Derrida to Dwell to DIY Urbanism”

She is the former editor-in-chief of Dwell magazine. Arieff is author of the books, PREFAB and Trailer Travel: A Visual History of Mobile America (Gibbs Smith, 2002). She is a former editor-at-large at GOOD and Sunset magazines, and was senior content lead for the design firm IDEO. She was one of Nau’s Design Visionaries earlier this year, and has been an expert commentator on KALW’s “99% Invisible,” KCRW’s “Design and Architecture,” NPR’s “Marketplace,” and The Sundance Channel’s “Big Ideas for a Small Planet.” She is Board Chairman for FERN (Food and Environment Reporting Network), and serves on the advisory committees for Design Ignites Change! and SPUR’s Food Policy and Urban Agriculture Program.
